It was certainly a big tent movement with an identity crisis. 2011 was also the first time a bunch of self-described progressive liberals threatened to call the cops on me lol.
IMO both Occupy (coalescing into the contemporary labor movement) and the Alt Right were basically the left and right wing responses to post-2008 austerity.
