One of the big, mind-blowing insights was when my wife told me there are a lot of men who are sexually attracted to women but don't actually like women. They don't want to be friends with women, they don't look up to women, they only see women as sex objects. And they resent women for that.
And I think the opposite is also true: There are a lot of women who are sexually attracted to men who don't actually like men.
And now a lot of really fucked up marriages make a ton more sense to me.
