Because of Hurricane Hillary the topic came up at work yesterday, my manager was hoping that internet would stay on despite of the storm. I informed her that most of the cables powering the internet are underwater and nailed to the seas floors. She was surprised and didn’t know this.
Then I told her about how most of this infrastructure is privately owned.
