jloc0 (nprofile…gg8z) A lifetime ago, I was an employee at a company, doing web backend development, they handed me a 2012 Mac Book Pro. Thinking it was just UNIX so how bad could it be, I tried to use it for three months, but suffered in pain, slowly replacing everything for even slightly improved workflows. The savior to my productivity was installing a GNU/Linux distro in a VM, making it full-screen on boot, and just using that for everything. Later on, I managed to get approval to install a Linux on the company laptop. That Mac Book to this day has Slackware on it. Was also the first time I hacked on Linux kernel modules to get the buggy WiFi drivers for the Mac to behave. Good ol' times.
