not that i fault anyone for doing that! it's just a job after all, they're all just acting rationally within the incentive structure of dysfunctional tech companies.
but let's stop pretending that people in tech give a fuck about efficiency or doing the right thing. most tech jobs are barely distinguishable from rent-seeking. software is just a more pretentious and self-righteous version of the finance industry at this point.
