Cheating would be being a crap singer, using melodyne to pitch correct the vocal to perfection, BUT, claiming you recorded that perfect vocal live without any pitch correction software to fix your bad performance.
Stop conflating the tools of the industry with lying about the tools you used to create your art.
Much like shredded actors lying about NOT taking steroids to get that physique in an abnormally short period of time (its NOT chicken, rice and broccoli!)
