Software-wise, I prefer simpler apps. I wouldn't recommend Affinity—it's great on the desktop, but as far as a quick sketching tool, I think the complexity would get in the way as ChrisR (npub13d2…nh8n) pointed out.
I haven't used Procreate, but I do use Linea Sketch from time to time. It's a nice, simple app designed for sketching. I'd also recommend Freeform. It's a stock Apple app, but I really like it: simple toolset, infinite canvas, and low-friction drawing experience.
