Your false assumption is that I belong to any group. I would not tell you to rise above all of that if I did not mean it. I follow no political association. I belong to no social group other than being an American, because that is the country of my birth and the social contract that I am forced to follow. I believe in many of the American values, but I also believe our freedoms and rights have been eroded over time.
I am on my own side. Based on wisdom, temperance, courage, and justice. For my philosophy is mostly stoicism, but uniquely adapted to suit my own beliefs. Making my point of view and personal philosophy my own. Not controlled by anyone, because it is in a constant state of adaptation. Which improves as my knowledge broadens with my life experiences. So try not to put me into any box, or mislabel me, because my points of view will never fit into any of them perfectly.
If my views and opinions happen to coincide with one group over another. If I happen to agree with one over another, because what they say is not absolutely batshit crazy. Such as the majority of liberal nonsense that changes drastically with every 24 hour news cycle. That does not make me a part of that group. I do not blindly follow what every group member is told to think, because that is the General Consensus De Jour. It simply means we agree on certain topics. Nothing more and nothing less. Just as it should be. For I think freely.
I will always follow my own path no matter what. Try it. You may just learn to like it.
