On proof of innocence, I can see the pros of it. However, the big risk is people surrender the rights, and it allows the real civil disobedience to be isolated. The privacy is most important when the oppressor disagrees.
The term "dead" is subjective in this case. If we define it as using it as real world money , or as using apps, then it's dead. If being alive means having huge speculative sums locked up to borrow stablecoins and gamble more, then okay, Eth is good. But I'm arguing that pure speculation is bad to begin with.
