Step one is to stop digging the hole deeper. #Labour need to stop further divergence from the EU and unnecessary conflicts (eg ECHR).
Only then can we start rebuilding ties, at which point the EU will be much more keen to engage.
The UK will never get the deal it had before. But the "European Project" vision will always include Britain.
