Mitla Mosaics - a coded language may plaster the walls of a Zapotec city of the dead (1901) :
Mitla, one of many well-preserved archeological sites in Oaxaca Valley, Mexico; where cold, dry climate has conserved sites as old as 10,000 years. This valley was settled by Zapotec before turn of 1st Millennium, who over centuries developed a hierarchical society governed by elites.
