When I was a mad scientist teenager, I heated a sample of arsenopyrite and probably inhaled some of the resulting pretty purple vapor. I also acquired a pound of mercury and tinkered with that endlessly, including spilling some of it into the seams in the floorboards where it had a chance to evaporate over time.
