Clearly a joyless cash-grab.
Let's acknowledge an obvious truth, retail investors absolutely would redeem in-kind, as for institutions... Let's just say a butcher could count on one hand the number of institutions opting for self-custody.
BlackRock's clearly not keen on the idea.
What's to say they don't reverse the decision in future, or "temporarily" suspend in-kind redemption.
