If you are worried about storing your hard work and sweat and tears and possibly even blood manifested in your amazing game on a flash cartridge for Sentinel 65X, worry not -- these cartridges do not use the same kind of flash as, for example, SD cards or Switch cartridges. Those things use NAND flash, which is much cheaper per byte than the NOR flash our cartridges use.
The cartridge PCBs 65XROM0 and 65XROM1 are designed around the SST39LF040, 512KB NOR flash ROM which has a rated write endurance of 100,000 cycles and a data retention time of 100 years per the datasheet. While that cannot be 100% guaranteed, it speaks to the relative reliability of the underlying technology versus what you may have heard about "flash" as a concept.
Oh, and Mouser sells that particular chip for CAD $3.63 in single quantity, and have over 4,000 in stock at this time.
