After not having ridden a standard derailleur road bike in many years (been riding an internal gear hub bike for the last decade+), today I borrowed my partner's bike and - wow!
I'd forgotten just how much worse derailleur bikes are for riding in the city. So distracting to use two shifters instead of one, remember to downshift in advance of a stop, and have the worry of things malfunctioning if not tuned and operated just right.
Other than cost, IGH is just *so* much easier.
