A bit tangentially I prefer the term "bullshit" to "hallucination". Have since ChatGPT started, but now there's a Glasgow paper "ChatGPT is Bullshit"!
"Hallucination" refers misperceptions, but gen-AI don't perceive so they don't misperceive. "Bullshit" refers to talking without regard for the truth, which is how LLMs works.
I hear objections about implied sentience, a lost battle!
