there are glimmers and peaks. **years** ago i remember listening to a "This American Life" series about life in the West Bank and it was one of the most fucked up things i've ever heard in my life. like, the IDF will enter your home in the middle of the night and take away your 13-year-old son without telling you why or where, and it will do this **repeatedly** until your kid is traumatized and wetting the bed. my son is 13, this would 100% turn me into a terrorist.
