"content": "Aaron Copland (November 14, 1900 – December 2, 1990) AKA “The Dean of American Composers”. In 1942 he was asked by modern dancer and choreographer Martha Graham (May 11, 1894 – April 1, 1991) to write a new piece of music to pair with her choreography. In 1944, they debuted the ballet “Appalachian Spring” (https://youtu.be/nM5-CsI713g?si=HzGGsUi30oAFLuYZ) that tells the story of a young pioneer couple. This version was filmed in Pittsburgh in 1958. \u2028#SymSat #AaronCopland #MarthaGraham #AppalachianSpring\n\nhttps://files.mastodon.social/media_attachments/files/113/456/761/133/058/316/original/2dfbc657e07f6ddb.webp\n\nhttps://files.mastodon.social/media_attachments/files/113/456/762/031/140/150/original/ec66652de06cb790.jpeg",
