I have always heard people say that love fades and that you need to make sure you have other things in common with your mate or you'll end up drifting apart. It's certainly true that you should have things to do together and talk about with your mate, I'm not discounting that. But I've been with my husband for 22 years now, married for 18, and I still feel about him the same way I did the first time I told him I loved him. I honestly can't believe we've gotten so lucky. I thought love had a shelf life, but maybe it doesn't have to.
