If it is within the return period, I'd suggest returning the main module for the Chromebook module. You can flash a Coreboot UEFI payload and that will work wonderfully with Linux.
Unfortunately the mainline framework stuff is still using the same old proprietary UEFI providers and their Linux compatibility is atrocious :<
