Berkeley graduate student super commutes by flying to class from LA to SF.
This is an extreme case, but sometimes it's the only viable option to take advantage of short-term opportunities in high cost of living areas.
I'm *technically* a super commuter for my current postdoc in Flagstaff, which on paper is a remote position but I've traveled between Arkansas and Arizona to work onsite on 3 occasions, most recently in March and combining with other trips to the area.
