The large blocks are Douglas Fir, believe me it has plenty of knots. The smaller stuff is mostly Lodgepole Pine, the stem is pretty much knot free, until close to the top of the tree.
Now it's my turn to be jelly, I'd love to be able to get my hands on some Red Oak, Cherry or Elm.
