Me: I think everyone knows that the government has been gaming the official figure on inflation. In addition to gaslighting everyone, Social Security payments are tied to the consumer price index (CPI). If the CPI reflected reality, payments to pensioners would increase drastically. However, we are being told at current rates, the Social Security "trust fund" runs out of money in 10 yrs.
