I'm not minimalizing the differences. My point was the internet wasn't the start of this, but it didn't help. Remember they've been trying for years to reverse Roe v Wade, civil rights and book banning.
What happened was hubris took over; Roe v Wade and civil rights was "settled law", book banning was unsuccessful in the past. Therefore the argument was; if it didn't work in the past, it would be a problem in the future and you will be labeled an nihilist if you disagree with that. 😒
