The sole purpose of this is to try and make Oxen successful. Session would not exist otherwise and probably won't exist when (not if) Oxen fails. This is (I believe) intentionally, largely hidden from would be users as there are a lot of crypto skeptics out there who would not touch this otherwise.

Thus the entire thing seems dishonest to me.

They should talk more openly about their primary goal (to make Oxen a successful crypto currency) in all Session marketing material, including their profile page here on the fedi and see how many people are still interested.

How about, "Session is part of a pyramid sheme to prop up a crypto currency and … oh yes… it is also a private messaging app."

But if Session were this honest, the whole thing would likely collapse early, so they don't.
