Oh #HeyCohost folks (and others new to fedi), here are a few tips for this space<li>There is no algorithm so you have to build your own network by following other users and hashtags to build your own home feed. Feel free to follow and interact often, and you'll find your crowd soon enough.</li><li>Privacy settings can be enabled in the settings to do useful things like: make your account default to private or quiet posts, hide follows/followers, lock your account to manually approve follow requests, etc.</li><li>Private messages are not encrypted! Fedi does not have a separate system to handle private messages so the existing function is kind of a hackneyed version of normal posting. Just use Signal instead for secure communications. </li><li>Folks here tend to be conscious of our friends with visual impairments (or slow Internet speeds) and may only boost your content if it has alt-text descriptions for images. We like it when everyone can participate here!</li>
