People don’t want to hear it but the reason social media platforms are free is not only because YOU, your data, are the product but also because the federal gov and intel agencies were involved from the beginning.

I was a computer science major in the early 2000’s when this was all coming together and continued to work in tech for the next 15 years.

Trust me when I tell you it was all by design from the beginning.

If someone as low on the totem pole as me was given the visibility and access I was given, I can only imagine what Elon knows.

Certainly more than me.

Certainly enough to know that user data must be HEAVILY gatekept if we stand any chance of reverse engineering the data privacy invasion that has occurred over the past 20 years.

The battle over a blue check isn’t about Elon.

You’re not achieving anything by refusing to pay for a service you use, you’re just supporting the legacy system which is weaponized against you.

Paying for a service you use is called value for value and while I appreciate platforms like NOSTR that improve upon what currently exists…

I’m also very confused about people, especially those in #Bitcoin  who think they’re championing a nobel cause by refusing to pay for Twitter.

NOSTR will also require funding as it grows or it will cease to exist.
