During the reign of the Flavian emperors it became fashionable for high-status Roman women to have elaborate towering hairstyles.
They say fashion is cyclical … the towering hairstyles of the 1770s … beehive hairdos of the 1960s … ‘big hair’ of the 1980s … it might be making a comeback soon!
