I drove through a village called Wetwang today. (No laughing at the back.) If you think you may have heard that before, Tolkien penned it onto his map of Middle Earth which should be the frontispiece of any self respecting copy of the Lord of the Rings. He borrowed a few more things from Yorkshire too, including the phrase 'Middle Earth'.
