When I was on vacation and away from my usual media diet, one thing became quite clear to me.
It isn’t news or politics, as such, that makes me stressed and frustrated; it's the endless, recursive, emotionally all-out all-the-time Discourse about them.
I've spent the last few days adjusting what I read to focus on getting enough news to stay current, while steering clear of the endless takes, and it is hard to convey just how much better I feel as a result.
It is much, much better this way.
