It's really how fucked how we germans are like so excessive with laws, regulations, taxes etc. but the dangers of alcohol are completely under the radar in popular conscience.
I was around craftsmen a lot when I was younger and many were alcoholics, meaning they would actually be more capable with a few beers in as withdrawal would make them clumsy and stressed
