Absolutely. Xiu Yang (修身), or Self-Cultivation, is a focal point of Chinese thought in both Ruist and Daoist traditions. Creating and maintaining Harmony (和) within the self, through practicing the five constant virtues, functions much like eudaimonia does in Aristotle’s thought on classical Virtue Ethics. In my Ethics class I even take pains to show the enormous similarities between the two schools of thought and the focus on how personal physical, mental, and spiritual development is intertwined with social flourishing.
