There’s one thing that really changes everything at work:
feeling like I can take responsibility.
Like I can act, decide, push things forward.
It’s powerful. But it often gets shut down.
It happens when the boss decides everything on their own.
When our input gets ignored or dismissed.
When the vibe is cold, hard.
When you do good work and nobody says a word.
When you’re seen more like a problem than a person.
When there’s no room to grow or learn.
And most of all: when those busting their ass never get recognized.
Over time, the will to take ownership just fades.
People retreat not out of laziness, but because no one made it feel worth it.
And without that drive, everything stops.
No project grows if no one feels like they can put themselves in it.
Responsibility has to be lit not forced.
And it takes guts on both sides to keep that fire alive.
