I think that the problem with EVs is that they were suppressed by the big car companies, and then boosted by governments so they achieved market distortions.
In hindsight, I think both groups should have boosted plug in hybrids earlier on. Because the car companies can sell parts and service, and the infrastructure could have been developed earlier and normalised. Something like that.
EVs are great commuters cars and as second cars for a household.
