I've been into ecology and economy in a fairly serious way for years but this just blew my mind a bit.
The energy/material :: scarcity/abundance relationships (and their possible inversion!) Seem so fundamental to how people think about this stuff. As humanity spreads and technology progresses, maybe we are finally reaching that tipping point...
