I've been using Numbers for years. First on the Mac, then on the iPad and it has served me very well. I'll not claim to be a spreadsheet guru, I've not used Excel or Google Sheets because I've not had to. For my use case Numbers has not only been enough but I actually enjoy using it.
As for the browser, again, I've rarely had issues with Safari with the exception of Google Sheets. Terrible.
