If you are in the market for a free and open source alternative to Proton Drive, you should check peergos.org the founder have been working on this for 11 years with no VC money as a matter of principle.
And if you would rather have these features in Nostr apps, I started working on a Rust library (Peergos is written in Java) that can be embedded in any client with no opinions on the identity layer.
Of course I will use it with Pkarr in Mlkut ... but it will be available for all ecosystem, offering E2EE filesystem with granular access control, while trusting the cloud to only provide availability.
