I'd advocate for this in the US, but only with the hope that the expense means parking lots get converted to something more usable. The last thing we need is to make parking lots an even bigger sunk cost
We should work on reducing our addiction to car culture and invest in a LOT more public transport. And we need that societal shift more than we need the additional gigawatts
