I would say accept the current state (without opinion filters).
I think people can have a lot of power if they first only look at how things are. And only in a second step find out what they want to accomplish and form small steps to get from the current state to the favorable state.
This is with conversations, transitions of people, of societies and everything. It doesn't help to not accept what already is.
