For my folks out there with some sound engineering experience, I have a few questions. A new friend of mine runs her own voice acting talent agency. I need to provide a sampling for her and I run Arch Linux. I am (a little bit) familiar with Audacity. I am kind of on a budget here.
1. Can I get away with a USB microphone purchased off of Amazon. I've been looking at this model: http://bit.ly/3OKKmH0
2. Will having a basic understanding of Audacity be enough or do I need to learn and concentrate on certain features?
3. I am a bit embarrassed that I forgot to ask my friend what format is currently used. Will .mp3 suffice or is that no longer being used professionally?
