For a reader who's like me. I still need to relate the story to someone who isn't me, but someone who shares my sense of what's fun to read about, but also the "logic" of my narrative worlds. Ex, the "bobiverse" books are written on the assumption that something like libertarian capitalism actually works. I don't buy the parts of those books that rely on that logic. My work is based on a materialist, class-based understanding of the world. The background logic is essentially Marxist.
