Asked a question on MathOverflow ... and found it had already been asked 15 years ago. Means I can delete my question and I have my answer instantly.
At least, what I thought was the main part of my question. There's a small follow-up that now is really too small for MO, so I will ask the wisdom of the (small?) algebraic geometry crowd here: what's the definition of a finite-type algebraic space, if any? And given one, I'm hoping that the set of R-valued points, where R is a finite product of finite fields, is finite.
What say you?
