This occurred to me too but OTOH, it also feels like some scripted WWE rivalry.
Note how Musk is careful to place the blame on congressional Republicans and not on Trump who also wanted the bill passed.
We can observe how Massie and Paul were attacked by Trump for standing on principle and there's little wonder the rest of the GOP fell in line.
I'm liking where things are going with Elon.
He started by naively becoming political. He discovered that politicians lie. He is now at the "disappointed with politics" phase.
Soon he will discover that it is better to change the world through technology.
His concern with fiscal irresponsability is going to lead him to Bitcoin eventually.
His desire to protect free speech will lead him to Nostr.
It's the logical path.
Either that or he becomes some kind of supervillain...
