I never truly conflated the left with the Democratic Party, although of course I voted that way. Today I vote for whoever looks like a better person. I voted for the Republican candidate for mayor in Philly this year, and Democrats in other roles.
After getting to know more conservatives, I realized that its the same for the Republican Party. Essentially a liberal party, but goes full hog on weird shit like war.
