If you handle PII of any sort,
and ESPECIALLY the fuck if you handle PHI
you had better fucking have a policy stating that all hardware have FDE enabled at all times,
in -addition- to a policy regarding wiping equipment fucking storage when you fucking decommission it.
This is mandated by -all- the fucking compliance regimes; there are no possible fucking excuses to not fucking do this.
