holotropic breathing gave me my most psychedelic experience. more than any of the few psychedelics I’ve done.
Why not tell Nostr:
In 2019, I was living in a coliving place with 95 other people. 1 lot. 8 houses. 96 pods. In Venice beach. I wonder if this was even legal? I still paid $1,100 a month.
Anyways, 1 day I last second heard that there would be breathwork in the yoga room. I thought, “I’m a surfer, I could use some breathwork to help me hold my breath longer”.
I went in to this experience with zero expectations or knowledge of what the heck I was going to do.
Next thing you know, we’re all breathing like crazy, there’s music, & I start tingling.
My hands curled up uncontrollably. I’m buzzing like crazy and lose all awareness.
Quite a while in, the facilitator instructs us to see our older selves. I see him. Standing with a daughter and feeling what it was like to be a dad. This was profound and stuck with me for years. I felt like I didn’t matter and she was the most important thing.
Next we saw our younger selves. I saw myself playing with a ball against the wall in my front yard. It took nothing to make me happy as a kid. I would constantly seek play no matter what.
This was a great reminder and i now think it’s my role to bring play wherever i go.
I came out of the experience uncontrollably happy crying. Was insane, never felt anything like it. Never had a “spiritual experience” before this.
Anyways, GM.
