Day 19-20 of my fitness journey:
Based on a suggestion here I did some research into shoes with better support for low arches/flat feet.
Wound up finding an Asics Factory Outlet at the outlet mall here in Vegas, so I grabbed a new pair of shoes.
They feel much different than the old shoes I was wearing.. they feel like they support and guide my feet into the proper movement.
I stuck to a short 20 minute walk the last two days. About 10 minutes in, my shins feel a bit sore, so I'm taking it easy to give those muscles time to recover and heal.
Meanwhile, I'm still thinking about biking, but the barrier of entry (in terms of executive function requirements) is so much higher than walking. My friends here have a bike that looks like it should fit me, but it's in rough shape and needs some work first. Plus I need a helmet.
