Here's what I often do when I have a task that is too fuzzy, scary, or boring.

When I notice that I'm procrastinating what I often do is I journal as I'm about to start. I may write, for example, about what's missing so I can start doing it. Or I may reflect on emotions or thoughts that I notice and what they mean in relation to my task.

And as I continue with this journaling/self-coaching, more often than not that task is done with ease and engagement. It may take a bit longer but it's much more grounded than if I try to use my willpower and white-knuckle through it.

I'm guessing that's the greatest side benefit of learning coaching skills.

Have you ever tried something like this?
