Harold Steves convinced me that it was a very bad idea indeed since it removed one of the few areas capable of growing vegetables in northern BC. He pointed out that BC then relied heavily on produce from California and predicted (rightly) how that would suffer due to climate change.
We also do not need large scale hydro that wrecks ecosystems when we have lots of unused renewable resources - solar, wind and geothermal - for generating power at far lower cost
