For some reason media elsewhere chose to largely ignore this and preferred engaging in doomsday scenarios. People want to be frightened and made angry, and the press has decided to cater to that addiction, probably because it generates more ad income than providing honest information does. News is quickly turning into newtainment and we should begin regarding it as such.
